Two Ideas That Shape Everything
Two fundamental technological principles run through all our developments: neural communication β our serverless system architecture β and the modular principle, with which we realize new solutions quickly and reliably from long-proven building blocks.
Neural Communication
The outstanding special feature of our systems is neural communication. Applied for a patent as early as 2000, it is characterized by a serverless structure that dispenses with any central instance. All components of a system communicate directly with one another and form a distributed intelligence.
Without a Central Unit
No central control unit, no server β the system works as a network of equal, intelligent participants.
Distributed Intelligence
Each component decides for itself. If one station fails, the remaining ones continue to operate without restriction.
Groups & Prioritization
Announcements, group formation and prioritized communication β without central configuration.
Scalable at Will
From a few participants to installations with several hundred stations.
Why this matters: Without a central instance there is no single point of failure. Systems remain fail-safe, expandable and β because the devices agree among themselves β flexibly adaptable to any installation size.
The Elink Modular Principle
In very few cases do we carry out genuine new developments. When realizing problem solutions, we draw on existing building blocks β from the areas of hardware, software and firmware β most of which have already been in successful use for many years. We call the process of assembling these building blocks into a new product implementation.
- Proven: Reuse of modules that have proven themselves over decades instead of risky new development
- Fast: Significantly shorter development times and lower costs
- Reliable: Mature components that have been deployed thousands of times
- Flexible: Thanks to our operating system, there is no tie to specific hardware
The Foundation: ellan:RTOS
The foundation of both principles is our own high-security real-time operating system ellan:RTOS. It runs on the most diverse hardware platforms, is fully modular in design and has been continuously maintained and adapted to the most modern requirements since 1990.
